Kemberton Riding Stables

One of the first riding schools in the country to offer Young Equestrians, Kemberton hosts weekly sessions attended by twenty teenagers all keen to have fun, make new friends and learn more about horses and riding! The group hold monthly meetings where they plan their future events and discuss which activities they would like to do in their sessions.

The group organised an Open Day in May this year; a project entirely led by them with support from their Proprietor, Hannah Lloyd. They set up various stands with everything from homemade cakes to a ‘guess the weight of the lamb’ competition and a fun Horse show suitable for riders of all abilities. “Organising the Open Day was a fantastic idea created by the whole team” remarked Becky, Vice Chairman of their Young Equestrian committee, who helped organise the event. “We gained a lot from the Open Day including the opportunity to learn how to organise a successful event. We all enjoyed being involved with the preparation and complete of the Open Day, and we are all looking forward to future events.”

The money raised went towards a trip to the 2015 Weatherbys Private Banking Pony Club Championships where they successfully took part in the Howden Centre Equitation Competition. Hannah has been blown away by their efforts so far and commented “The enthusiasm amongst our Young Equestrians for anything horse related is epic, and they constantly impress me with their creativity and ability to organise activities, not just for themselves but for everyone connected with our Pony Club Centre.”
