Horse Shows not to be missed this winter

We’re settling into September and planning some trips to make the thought of winter seem a little less gloomy. Here are four excellent equestrian events you do not want to miss:

Horse of the Year Show, West Midlands – 4th – 8th October

Head to Birmingham’s NEC this October for thrilling competition, breathtaking displays and a spot of retail therapy!

The Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) plays host to the most prestigious National Showing and Show Jumping Championships, International Show Jumping classes and the Dressage Future Elite Championship. Hosting the hugely popular Dressage Master class will be the dressage phenomenon Charlotte Dujardin who will put the riders through their paces and pass on some of her invaluable tips to the HOYS audience. Also not to be missed, stirring up rip-roaring action will be Atkinson Action Horses as they present LIMITLESS. The second display is completely unique and has never been seen before; The Story of the Caspian Horse which will give people an insight into the versatility of this fascinating breed. Back again this year will be the all-time crowd pleasers Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games and Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry Racing.

With two arenas, 16 hours of daily action, 1,600 top-class horses, exhilarating live displays and the HOYS Retail Village, containing 250 trade stands, HOYS 2017 is set to impress!

Your Horse Live, West Midlands – 11th – 12th November

Your Horse Live returns to Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, this November for a weekend of varied performances and seriously good shopping.

It’s the UK’s biggest equine shopping show, and with more than 400 equine stands you’re sure to find a bargain. Watch the world’s greatest stars perform including dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin, show jumper Geoff Billington and stunt rider Guido Louis. Stunt Rider Guido is set to wow the crowd at Your Horse Live

Olympia, London – 12th – 18th December

Join the UK’s equestrian Christmas party for plenty of international show jumping and elite dressage action as well as a variety of displays including; The Shetland Pony Grand National; with all the excitement of a horse race on a miniature scale, the Kennel Club Dog Agility competitions; featuring classes such as the ABC Class (that’s Anything But a Collie!) and the fantastic Chillean Huasos display where cowboy-like horsemen perform a ride to music.

To soak up the festive atmosphere we recommend a spot of last minute Christmas shopping in the trade stand hall and if that doesn’t get you in the Christmas Spirit the Olympia Finale at the end of each night, full of singing, dancing and a very special guest, is sure to get you in the mood!

Liverpool International Horse Show, Liverpool – 29th – 31st December

With international show jumping, dressage, live music and stunt riding on motorbikes and on horseback, Liverpool Horse Show is definitely and action packed way to end year. The show is delighted to welcome LUMINOSO, a brand new equestrian showcase featuring fire, pyro and some of the best trick riding in the world. As Liverpool is famous for hosting the most famous steeplechase in the World at Aintree, Liverpool Horse Show bring their own version of that nail biting race in miniature with the Shetland Pony Grand National.

Watch Freestyle Motocross, which takes the sport of Motocross to another level with riders flying off a purpose built ramp with their bikes 40 feet in the air! Rick Parfitt Jnr and his band close the show each night with a special party set to bring in the New Year in style!
