The Church Farm Young Equestrians Group Has Opened

Launch 1

Calling all Young People aged 13-18; a Young Equestrians group has opened in your area!

The latest group to join the Nationwide project launched by The Pony Club in partnership with Hoof is the Church Farm Equestrian Centre group.

The new group is based in Bristol and is open to all, you don’t have to be a Pony Club Member or even be able to ride to join.

Young Equestrians groups provide participants with the choice and freedom to try different disciplines and sporting activities as well as the opportunity to develop their equestrian skills and have time to socialise with friends.

Church Farm kicked off their Young Equestrians group by putting on a BBQ:

Luka Sullivan, 16: “I invited two of my friends from school with me so that was fun as they could meet new people! It was different to normal yard experiences and I felt comfortable with everyone”

Milly Powell-Chandler, 13: “Today was amazing and it was fun to see everyone for longer than my normal hour lesson on a Sunday, I could send more time with people my age who have the same interests as me.”

Charlie Padfield, Group Leader: “I’m very excited to be part of Yong Equestrians as I have always wanted to be part of a group of people and feel like I belong there. Being a Young Equestrian has meant that with my love of horses I feel a sense of belonging and I can do what I love most with friendly people. I am really looking forward to spending time with the girls outside of horses too, they are amazing people and I know it will be fun!”

The group are already planning to enjoy Air-Hop, Bowling, Ice skating and a day at Badminton Horse Trials.

There are currently over 90 Young Equestrian clubs in the UK, with new ones opening every month. The clubs can be set up by riding schools accredited to a British Equestrian Federation Member Body, such as The Pony Club, or within Pony Club Branches. Thanks to Sport England Funding, those that sign up will be given support for their club through marketing materials, session ideas and audience insight.
