Ivanhoe Equestrian

Ivanhoe launched their Young Equestrians group in March when they discussed their aims and goals by creating mood boards to represent what they wanted to try out, learn and achieve.

They have spent the summer working through their lists undertaking a number of activities such as Horseball, Cross Country and a day out at Chatsworth Horse Trials (where they got to meet two Eventing favourites, Ben Hobday and Mary King, when shopping!). They also held their own camp where they explored various equine-related careers and the qualifications they would need on the road to their desired professions, and now have a regular Saturday afternoon fixture.

Danielle and Lucy said “We are really excited about Young Equestrians because it will allow us to try new things and learn about different stuff that you wouldn’t normally come across in a riding school, such as horse dentistry and care of hooves.” Emma Lebutt, Proprietor at Ivanhoe, said “Young Equestrians has fitted in really well with our existing programme, and has encouraged our helpers to think more about their involvement with horses beyond their regular riding school routine. I hope that by giving young people the chance to follow their own goals and aims, exploring the areas of equestrianism that really interest them, we can help produce the equine professionals of the future.”
